Asbestos poisoning is the cause of numerous fatal diseases, particularly Mesothelioma, a deadly cancer. The presence of Pleural Mesothelioma can be difficult to predict, since many victims do not show the symptoms for as much as 40 years. About half of patients suffering from Mesothelioma never show symptoms of disease. Dangerous amounts of asbestos exposure leading to pleural mesothelioma can be detected if you look for the primary signs.
Difficulty Breathing or a Chronic Cough is often the first sign of pleural mesothelioma, a form of the cancer which affects the membrane lining of the heart and lungs. This shortness of breath could be caused by tumors in either the lungs or the heart.
Weight Loss without an obvious cause is a second symptom. This is associated with most forms of Mesothelioma.
Continuous Fever is the third sign. Note that a fever can be caused by almost any affliction, and should not be immediately associated with Mesothelioma without significant cause to suspect the cancer. However, many patients with the disease have reported continuous fever as a symptom.
General Discomfort is the fourth sign of the presence of Mesothelioma. This should be taken into account when you are looking to diagnose Mesothelioma. Please consult a physician for a further diagnosis.
